The project is also cpmprises developments in Karystos and Chalkida, so that the parallel construction of infrastructures on the island can begin in order to secure operating permits. The construction and operation of the waterway network in Evia has been entirely undertaken by Ydatodromia Evia IKE, a subsidiary of Hellenic Seaplanes.
The company has after the licensing of the Kymi waterway at the beginning of 2023, been consistenlty maturing the technical files of the rest (4) four projects similarly.
The licenses for new waterways in Aliveri and Edipsos will be added to the already licensed Kymi waterway and licensing of Karystos and Chalkida is expected very soon.
The ownership of the waterways belongs to the Ports Organization of the Prefecture of Evia SA (OLNE), which had designated with tender process as a contractor for the construction and operation of the waterways Evia Waterways IKE, a subsidiary company of Hellenic Seaplanes SA.
