The preferred investor will acquire the rights to use, operate, manage, and exploit the Vasilitsa Ski Resort (ΕΧΚΒ) for a period of 40 years, with the goal of transforming it into an attractive destination for mountain tourism, promoting sustainable tourism development throughout the year, as stated in a relevant announcement by the Hellenic Public Asset Development Fund (Υπερταμείο).
The upgrade and development of the ski resort will significantly enhance the regional development potential of Western Macedonia and Epirus, serving as a driving force for the development of mountain tourism throughout the year. The ability to operate the center as an all-season tourist attraction will foster the development of additional activities such as hiking, mountain biking, cultural, and gastronomic tourism, enriching the local tourism offering and supporting the region’s small and medium-sized enterprises.
The Vasilitsa National Ski Resort is equipped with seven (7) ski lifts serving eighteen (18) existing ski slopes, including two beginner slopes.
The Ministry of Education, Religious Affairs, and Sports assigned the Hellenic Public Asset Development Fund with the responsibility for the maturation, development, and exploitation of the Vasilitsa Ski Resort due to its extensive experience in managing key public assets.
The competition organized by the Hellenic Public Asset Development Fund marks the first attempt to exploit the Vasilitsa Ski Resort in collaboration with private investors and is the first effort to utilize a ski resort in Greece through a concession agreement.
