The Tsakos Group is undertaking a strategic €85 million investment to develop a luxury tourism complex at Filiatro, Ithaca.

The “Epic_O” investment project, developed by ATOKOS Ltd. (owned by the Tsakos family), envisions the construction of a 5-star hotel featuring 60 rooms, 50 villas, a spa, fine dining restaurants, and a tourist port facility with a seaplane terminal. The development will occupy approximately 326.8 acres, forming part of a larger privately owned estate of 873.6 acres in the area.

This marks the family’s second major tourism investment, following their restoration and reopening of the historic Xenia Hotel in Chios.

The Tsakos family also owns the neighboring, uninhabited yet accessible islet of Atokos, located between Ithaca and Aetolia-Acarnania. Covering 4.5 square kilometers, the rocky island is part of the Echinades Islands cluster and falls under the administrative jurisdiction of Ithaca.

The Interministerial Committee on Strategic Investments has approved two additional industrial investments: the “Olympus Project” by AGET Heracles – Holcim in Milaki, Euboea, and a new production facility by NEOTEX S.A. in Magoula, Attica.

The “Olympus Project” by AGET Heracles – Holcim in Milaki, Euboea, represents an investment of €99 million. It involves modifications to the production process at the Milaki cement plant, aiming to significantly reduce CO₂ emissions, lower energy consumption, and increase production capacity.

The new production facility of NEOTEX S.A. in Magoula, Attica, entails the creation of an advanced production unit for insulation and resin-based materials within the Magoula Business Park, with a budget of €21.4 million. NEOTEX is a Greek company with an export presence in 70 countries across four continents.

The project includes the establishment of modern production and storage facilities for construction materials, aiming to enhance the company’s competitiveness and production capacity in innovative products for waterproofing, insulation, and floor protection.
