The Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT) announced the seasonally adjusted estimates of employment and unemployment for March 2022.

The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in March 2022 amounted to 12.2% compared to 16.8% in March 2021 and to the downwards revised 12.7% in February 2022. 

The number of employed persons amounted to 4,187,657 persons increasing by 523,963 persons as compared with March 2021 (+14.3%) and by 16,180 persons compared with February 2022 (+0.4%). 

The number of unemployed persons amounted to 582,001 decreasing by 156,457 persons as compared with March 2021 (-21.2%) and by 25,233 persons compared with February 2022 (-4.2%). 

The number of persons outside the labour force, i.e., persons under the age of 75, that neither work nor look for a job, amounted to 3,069,759, decreasing by 399,928 persons as compared with March 2021 (-11.5%) and increased by 6,359 persons compared with February 2022 (+0.2%).
