The company, which places particular emphasis on its real estate portfolio—owning a significant proportion of the 166 stores it operates—has recently acquired a plot of land with a total area of 112,500 sq.m. in Aspropyrgos, Attica, with the aim of constructing a state-of-the-art logistics center.
The property will feature a 210-meter frontage along Attiki Odos and is expected to enhance the company's operational efficiency by improving customer service.
According to company sources, the acquisition was fully self-financed. The company is currently in the process of selecting a construction partner to begin development of the facility without delay.
The company has announced plans to develop 45,000 sq.m. of covered space on the site, focusing on optimizing its supply chain, which will support the faster expansion of its store network—including smaller-format stores—while significantly improving its environmental footprint. The investment will incorporate cutting-edge green development practices, including advanced solar energy systems, and will feature:
-
Modern, high-specification storage facilities,
-
Advanced automation and inventory management systems,
-
Infrastructure for product refrigeration and preservation.
The total investment for the project is estimated to range between €40 million and €50 million.
