Papoutsanis Group sets sales target of €100 million by 2028 – eyes potential acquisitions domestically and abroad.

As stated by the company’s management during a presentation at its facilities in Vathy Avlidas, Papoutsanis’ sales for the nine-month period of 2025 reached €61 million, compared to €49.6 million in the corresponding period of 2024, marking a 23% increase, with exports accounting for 54% of total turnover.

In terms of contribution by business segment to the 9-month 2025 revenue: 32% came from branded product sales in Greece and abroad, 15% from sales to the hotel market, 41% from third-party manufacturing, and 12% from industrial sales of specialty soap bases.

According to CEO Menelaos Tasopoulos, the company’s growth trajectory is reflected in its ability to double turnover every five years, with projections exceeding €100 million by 2028. At the same time, the company continues to implement its investment plan aimed at further expansion. Over the last three years, Papoutsanis has invested €20 million, while for the coming period, annual investments are expected to reach €4–5 million.

The company is also exploring new strategic initiatives both domestically and internationally, aiming to grow sales volumes and identify new opportunities—similar to what was achieved with the Arkadi brand. In this context, a major German soap base manufacturer that recently closed one of its two factories has recommended Papoutsanis to its clients as a reliable partner, with cooperation expected to begin in 2026.

For the full year 2025, management expects to maintain a high growth rate in turnover, driven by both the expansion of existing partnerships and the start of significant new collaborations, as well as the continued growth of branded product sales through entry into new categories and distribution channels, both locally and internationally. Similarly, for 2026, the company anticipates further growth, supported by new deals, the development of its branded product line, and the ongoing reduction of operating production facilities across Europe, which is expected to create additional opportunities for Papoutsanis in third-party manufacturing and soap base production.

Operating under a globally competitive commercial and industrial model and leveraging its expertise in traditional soap making, Papoutsanis has successfully revitalized and expanded its brand portfolio, introducing new branded products aligned with modern consumer trends and needs, and developing specialized offerings for new markets. Entry into large new product categories now allows the company to operate in a market that exceeds €600 million, providing ample space for further growth.

The successful development of Arkadi is expected to lead to a tripling of net sales by the end of 2025. In hotel amenities, Papoutsanis is the leading and most innovative producer in the Greek market and continues to expand exports. In the specialty soap base segment, the newest and almost entirely export-driven division, 2024 turnover reached €11.3 million, up from €0.5 million in 2015.

Papoutsanis operates across four distinct business lines: branded products (32% of total turnover), third-party manufacturing (41%), hotel amenities (15%), and specialty soap bases (12%). The company has evolved into an international industrial player, exporting to 35 countries and maintaining longstanding partnerships with major global retailers and multinationals for over a decade.

Papoutsanis operates a modern, fully integrated production facility, employing advanced technologies. In soap production alone, it has the capacity to produce 900 bars per minute and up to 40,000 tons annually—a volume capable of meeting Greece’s needs for roughly 20 years.

The company places strong emphasis on digital transformation, aiming to integrate digital tools and systems, improve internal processes and governance, develop its workforce, and continuously enhance efficiency, agility, and competitiveness.

Confirming its environmental commitment across the production, development, and distribution chain, Papoutsanis holds responsible sourcing certifications for packaging and raw materials (FSC, ECOCERT, RSPO), and offers vegan product lines with high natural content and organic Greek extracts. It packages its soaps using zero plastic, replacing shrink-wrap with paper-based alternatives, and uses boxes made from sustainably sourced FSC-certified paper. It also offers packaging made entirely from recyclable materials, such as monofilm refill pouches, and uses bottles made from recycled plastics and repurposed fishing and agricultural nets (Arkadi line).
