The concession is granted with the purpose of allowing the Municipality of Penteli to undertake studies, licensing procedures, restoration, and renovation works on the property’s facilities and surrounding area, through funding that will be secured, with the aim of using it as a Cultural and Spiritual Action Center for the Municipality for a period of 20 years.
The "Megaro Doukissis Plakentias," also known as the "Kastelo tis Rododafnis," is a landmark in Attica. The property, designated as a modern monument, is located on the Kofou Hill in the Municipality of Penteli, near the famous Observatory. Its construction began in 1840 and served as the summer palace of the Duchess of Plakentia. The imposing building, in the Gothic style, is two stories high with basements and surrounding auxiliary spaces. The project was undertaken by the architect Stamatis Kleanthis, who designed many of the Duchess of Plakentia's buildings. The structure was primarily built using the renowned Pentelic marble.
