The BorPres2 project, with a total budget of €7.5 million, is funded under the Interreg VI-A IPA "Greece–North Macedonia 2021–2027" programme and includes the following key actions:
Construction of a customs and border control facility on the Greek side,
Renovation and equipment upgrade of the existing police station in North Macedonia,
Development and promotion of a cross-border hiking trail connecting Agios Germanos (Prespes Municipality, Greece) with Brajchino (Resen Municipality, North Macedonia).
The project aims to ensure the full and efficient operation of the border crossing point, in line with Schengen standards, thereby strengthening cross-border connectivity, security, and sustainable regional development in the Prespa region.
Implementation is being carried out through a partnership between the Region of Western Macedonia (Lead Partner), the Ministry of Interior of North Macedonia, the Greek Ministry of Interior (Macedonia–Thrace Department), and the Municipalities of Prespes and Resen.
