Firmly committed to the principles of sustainability that are at the heart of its strategy for the development of the new "green" city of Hellinikon, LAMDA Development is implementing one of the largest transplants ever made in Greece.

This entended operation for the protection of the environment started in parallel with the construction works and concerns the protection and replanting of more than 3,000 trees, which are located within the Hellinikon construction site.

LAMDA Development, in collaboration with specialized green engineering companies and collaborating Greek nurseries, is creating temporary exclusive spaces, which will house trees that were moved and will be moved there due to the works in Elliniko.

The trees will be protected until they are gradually replanted in the Metropolitan Park and public areas of the new green city. Already more than 2,000 trees have been transferred to exclusive storage areas of a large Greek nursery.

The transplanting of the Elliniko trees has already started from the Experience Park with 80 olive trees and 100 new trees that further strengthen the green natural environment of the Park. The total number of trees reaches 900, while approximately 80,000 plants come from Mediterranean varieties.

A basic principle of transplant planning is the selection of plants based on their species, their special characteristics, the local climate, the conditions of the site and their ability to retain water, given that the management and conservation of rainwater is vital for the urban environment.
