The Region of Attica is moving forward with the tendering process for the “Development of an Urban Metropolitan Park at Faliron Bay,” situated within the administrative jurisdiction of Attica.

The project, with a budget of €258,064,516.13 excluding VAT (approximately €320 million including VAT), has been incorporated into the Operational Program “Environment, Climate Change and Civil Protection 2021-2027.” It is co-financed by the Cohesion Fund at 85% and by national resources at 15%.

Tender submissions will be accepted electronically via the ESIDIS system until September 25, 2025, with bid opening scheduled for October 1. The project’s execution timeline is set at 36 months from contract signing, with an incentive of a 1% bonus for contractors who complete at least 10% ahead of schedule. The total approved expenditure for the project is €353.76 million.

The “Aenaon” Metropolitan Park will cover more than 741 hectares, with 75% dedicated to green spaces—including the planting of over 4,000 trees and 185,000 shrubs across 343 hectares. The remaining 25% will be allocated for cultural and sporting activities, cycling paths, multi-sport venues, community events, and light commercial uses.

Designed according to principles of sustainability, aesthetic excellence, and inclusivity, the new park will be freely accessible to the public. It will revitalize the Athens Riviera waterfront, establishing Attica as a contemporary and sustainable metropolitan hub.
