Intrakat signed a 60.7 million euros plus VAT contract worth with the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport for the undertaking of the "Rafina Stream Boundary Arrangement" project, which will protect Rafina and the adjacent areas from the risk of future flash floods.

The works will be carried out over a length of approximately 15 km, and will follow the natural bed of the stream as much as possible, with respect for the natural ecosystem. The arrangement of the Rafina stream together with that of the Eschatia stream, which is also implemented by Intrakat, are the two largest flood control projects in Attica.

The project is part of the Operational Program "Transport Infrastructures, Environment and Sustainable Development" and is financed by the NSRF 2014-2020. The works are expected to be completed in 36 months from the signing of the contract.
