Hellenic Cables, the cables segment of Cenergy Holdings, was awarded by Greece’s Independent Power Transmission Operator (ADMIE – IPTO) two “turnkey” projects to carry out diversion and undergrounding of transmission lines.

More specifically, the first turnkey project includes the design, supply, and installation of 400 kV underground cable systems for the diversion of the 400 kV transmission line connecting Larimna to Aliveri, near Lilas River on Evia island in central Greece. The second turnkey project includes the design, supply, and installation of 150 kV underground cable systems for the undergrounding of the 150 kV aerial transmission lines “Ladon- Patra” and “Patra- Pyrgos” at the area of Messatida in the Northern Peloponnese.

The projects will help achieving supply security for the interconnected electricity system in a safe, reliable, and environmentally friendly way, as underground networks have reduced risk exposure, while protecting the environment.

The projects are expected to be completed in 2024 and the cables will be manufactured at Hellenic Cables' plant in Thiva.

Mr. Kostas Savvakis, Senior Commercial Director of Hellenic Cables, commented: "Hellenic Cables contributes through its ‘turnkey’ solutions to the modernization of electricity transmission networks and the undergrounding of aerial cables which ensure the creation of a more reliable, efficient and safer electricity network for Greece".
