Brookfield Asset Management has raised $20 billion for its latest energy transition fund, setting a record for the strategy, the firm announced. The milestone reflects continued strong investor interest in the clean energy sector, Brookfield said, underscoring the growing momentum behind the global shift to more sustainable energy sources.

Specifically, the Brookfield Global Transition Fund II has secured approximately $3.5 billion in co-investments for its portfolio, the New York-based investment firm announced.

The fund received contributions from both existing and new investors, including $2 billion from climate-focused private investment vehicle Alterra and $1.5 billion from Norges Bank Investment Management.

Brookfield, which manages more than $1 trillion in assets, stated that over $5 billion from the fund has already been deployed. This includes the acquisitions of Neoen, a renewable energy and battery storage company, and Geronimo Power, a U.S.-based energy development firm.
