The "Open Mall Galerius" project to upgrade Thessaloniki's urban center

The "Open Mall Gounari - Open Mall Galerius" project was recently presented by the Mayor of Thessaloniki, Konstantinos Zervas and the president of the Commercial Association Pantelis Filippidis.

Specifically, according to the municipal authority, the municipality is about to ink a contract with the contractor for the following projects:

The conversion of Vyronos and Grigoriou Palamas streets into light traffic streets accompanied by the construction of rainwater drainage infrastructure.

The construction of a new playground spanning ​​300 sqm, in Navarinou Square, next to the existing one.

The new planting formation in the flower beds of Dimitrios Gounaris in Tsimiski and Egnatia, but also in those on the sidewalks of Isavron, Emilianou Grevena and Gonata with the aim have them upgraded, the promotion of monuments and the improvement of the microclimate of the area.

The creation of a public bicycle station to improve mobility.

Lighting upgrades and smart systems

The project is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) of the European Union and from national resources and has a budget of € 1.4 million.
