Real estate properties are to be auctioned for debts due to the state

The State is claiming €111 billion in overdue debts.

The first list of real estate properties have been scheduled to be tendered by the Independent Public Revenue Authority (AADE) for debts due to the tax office.

According to AADE, on March 23, 2022, maisonettes, plots and apartments will be put up for auction for amounts starting from € 23,000 and exceeding € 500,000.

From the list of properties that are put up for auction, the following stand out:

- A maisonette on a plot of 800 sqm in Kifissia with a first offer price of 469,000 euros. The electronic hammer will strike on March 23.

- A maisonette of 374 sqm on a plot of 1,200 sqm in N. Erythrea with a first offer price of 507,000 euros. The auction is scheduled for April 13, 2022.

- Second Floor Apartment 50 sqm in the Municipality of Athens, with a first offer price of 26,000 euros. The electronic hammer will strike on March 23.

- A house of 124.86 sqm  on a plot of 1,622.35 sqm in Sithonia, Halkidiki. The price of the first offer has been set at 365,000 euros and the electronic hammer will be struck on May 18.

- Area 3,562 sqm (according to the acquisition title) in Lesvos with a first offer price of 150,000 euros. The auction is scheduled for April 13.

It is been noted that the Greek State is called to claim overdue debts which have already reached 111 billion euro. The new unpaid taxes of 2021 alone reached 5.79 billion euros, while 3,996,871 taxpayers and companies appear with debts to the Tax Office. The pressure of coercive measures has already been accepted by 1,332,050 debtors.
