Important infrastructure issues have been comprised in the agenda of the cabinet meeting today, Wednesday, under Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis at the Maximos Mansion.

According to information on the agenda of the meeting, a presentation will be made by the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport Christos Staikouras and Deputy Minister Nikos Tahiao regarding projects to upgrade infrastructure and transport.

More specifically, projects related to

a) Contract for the assignment and operation of the maintenance of the Thessaloniki metro network,

b) Contract for the improvement of the 9th National Road (Bypass Gialova P.E. Messinia) and

c) Proclamation of forced expropriation of properties for the traffic upgrade of the Internal Ring Road of Thessaloniki.

At the same time, there will be a presentation by the competent ministry of the recording and the first assessment of the damage to the infrastructure projects in the affected areas after the bad weather Daniel.

However, the focus will be on transport, among other things, with a special presentation by the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Christos Staikouras, of the bill for the integration of Directives 2021/1187 of the European Parliament and of the Council of July 7, 2021, on rationalization measures for the promotion of the implementation of the trans-European transport network and 2022/738 of the European Parliament and of the Council of April 6, 2022, on hired vehicles without a driver in road freight transport.
