Two bids for student residences in Western Macedonia

The companies Metlen Energy & Metals and Actor Group of Companies are participating in the tender.

The project will be implemented through a Public-Private Partnership (PPP), financed by the National Development Program (NDP), and includes the design, financing, construction, operation, and maintenance of student dormitories, as well as the provision of security and cleaning services.

The total capacity will be 750 beds, distributed across four cities in Western Macedonia: 350 beds at the Z.E.P. Kozani Campus, 150 in Florina, 150 in Kastoria, and 100 in Ptolemaida.

The project concerns the development of 750 student dormitories for the University of Western Macedonia, with 350 units to be constructed at the Kozani Campus, 150 in Florina, 150 in Kastoria, and 100 in Ptolemaida.

The PPP contract includes financing, construction, operation, technical management, and security and cleaning services for the facilities in all four cities.

Student Dormitories at the Z.E.P. Kozani Campus
The proposed dormitory complex will have a total capacity of approximately 350 residents. The student canteen is expected to serve 700–800 meals daily, regardless of whether students reside in the dormitories.

Regarding the conference center, the detailed technical specifications will be finalized during the second phase of the tender process. The center will be a multi-purpose complex, including lecture halls, a café, multifunctional rooms (meeting rooms, presentation spaces, storage, etc.), an exhibition area, administrative offices, and auxiliary spaces (storage, M&E facilities). The dormitories and conference center are planned to be developed within two building blocks of the Kozani Campus (total area 948,087.20 m²), located within the Z.E.P. Kozani, approximately 4 km west of the city of Kozani.

Student Dormitories in Florina
The proposed dormitory complex in Florina will have a total capacity of approximately 150 residents and a student canteen with a capacity of 350 meals daily. The dormitory complex will be constructed on University of Western Macedonia property, with a total area of 49,999 m², located approximately 3 km north of Florina city on Monastiriou Avenue.

Student Dormitories at the Kastoria Campus
The proposed dormitory complex will have a total capacity of approximately 150 residents, with the student canteen able to serve 400 meals daily, irrespective of dormitory occupancy. The facilities are planned within the Kastoria Campus, centrally located behind the existing educational infrastructure. The property is served by surrounding road networks and has a total area of 68,469 m².

Student Dormitories in Ptolemaida
The site for the new dormitory complex in Ptolemaida is located within the property of the former “FOUFA” military camp, outside the city plan. The dormitory complex is planned to cover a total area of 6,639.87 m², with a capacity to host approximately 100 residents.
