The inclusion of the second phase of the Falirikos Bay Redevelopment project in the Ministry's Operational Program: "Transport Infrastructures, Environment and Sustainable Development", with the Attica Region as beneficiary, was inked.

The total budget of the project has so far reached €365.4 million as the first phase of the initial budget of €73 million which has already been implemented by the construction group Aktor, with three additional contracts amounting to €6.3 million, € 22.5 million and €8.6 million the third reached €110.44 million.

The second phase begins with a more than doubled budget of €254.96 million and mainly concerns the creation of a Metropolitan Park in Falirikos Ormos, which will ensure uninterrupted access to the beach front, the construction of underground parking spaces of 30,930 m2, the construction of new surface buildings of 3,957,30 m2 and auxiliary basement areas with a surface area of 865.30 m2, with commercial, catering and leisure uses and restructuring and improvement works of the existing buildings.

The renovation works refer to,

  • the construction of pedestrian bridges (in Ilissos, in the western channel to Kifissos and above the water reservoirs), which ensure the connection of the individual zones and internal mobility within the Park,
  • road construction works exclusively within the Park Zone (i.e. internal roads of the Redevelopment Area, with an asphalt surface), outdoor parking areas for motorized two-wheelers and accesses to the underground parking areas, with the associated infrastructure works.
  • plumbing works within the park zone (storm drainage, site surrounds, sewage drainage, primary and secondary irrigation network, and supply of recreational reservoirs)
  • Port projects, as well as all the necessary complementary studies thereof, in the final stage of physical planning. These projects concern piers, islets, beach formations, etc., in zones I and II (Moschato and Kallithea up to the nautical marina), which complete the entire regeneration of the city's sea front, excluding the formations of the "skin" of the in-sea projects.
