The "Study for Upgrading Road Safety and Environmental Planning Department of Andrea Papandreou Avenue" in western Thessaloniki was inked earlier today.

This is a breath-taking project, of utmost importance for the safe movement of pedestrians and vehicles, as stressed by the two mayors, Neapolis - Sykeon Simos Daniilidis and Pavlou Mela Dimitris Demourtzidis, during the signing of the contract which took place in the presence of municipal officials and officials.

Next Friday, April 15, the bids will be unsealed and the procedures will be followed, so that in January 2023, the study has been completed, then the auction will proceed and within 2023 the implementation of the project will begin.

Andrea Papandreou Street is a critical traffic section in the wider area, as it functions as the main entrance-exit gate of the municipalities of Pavlos Mela and Neapolis - Sykeon to / from eastern and western parts of Thessaloniki through the inner ring road, but also to / from residential complexes such as the settlements of Pefkon, Asvestochori, Chortiati, Panorama, etc., through the underground passage of the ring road.
