The implementing body of the project for the reconstruction of the facilities of the former Regional Market in the Kouloura area of Veria, will be the Unified Horticultural Management Agency of Imathia Prefecture with the distinctive title "Amalthia S.A."
Its implementation begins immediately and is expected to be completed by 2025.
As he pointed out, a new export hub is being created and a key point for the operational action of the control authorities to reduce smuggling throughout the Central Macedonia region and to protect legal entrepreneurship in the region, since it is foreseen:
-Establishment of a new Mobile Control Group (MCO) department of the Thessaloniki Customs Control Service (EL.Y.T.), based in Kouloura, which will carry out controls on the major road axes of Egnatia and PATHE as well as in the prefectures Imathia, Pella and Pieria, with the aim of combating smuggling and increasing the collection of due taxes as well as traditional EU own resources.
-Establishment of a new Department of Public Material Management, based in Kouloura, which with the use of the new facilities, will take on the task of utilizing confiscated items or vehicles, most of which are means of committing criminal activity (smuggling, drugs, illegal immigration, etc.) .) ensuring the collection of any evaded duties and taxes.
