RENCO and TERNA S.A. to build Microsoft’s first Data Center

The construction of Microsoft’s first Data Center in the wider area of the Eastern Attica Regional Unit from RENCO in collaboration with TERNA S.A. is about to begin, following the relevant tender.

It is an industrial-type facility consisting mainly of mechanical and electrical data storage and processing equipment in the cloud and is structured as a main Equipment Building (ATH04 Building) and an Administration Building (Admin Block) accompanied by a number of supporting facilities and infrastructuresin the surrounding area, while the design follows LEED certification requirements(Gold Grade). 

The construction contract amounting to 100 million euros (including VAT) covers the completion of studies, construction, and commissioning of the first Microsoft Data Center with a total installed capacity of 19.2MW in Spata. Construction works are expected to commence during the next period.
