Piraeus Bank is steadily moving towards a sustainable future, adopting and applying horizontally, in all its areas of operation, Environmental, Social Cohesion and Governance (ESG) criteria.

At the same time, it remains at the forefront of the agricultural sector as well. It serves with consistency, vision and plan smart agriculture practices, contributing to the digital transformation of the primary sector.

Piraeus Bank, deeply aware of the problem of climate change, considered it appropriate to "illuminate" critical aspects of the problem, focusing on the effects it can have on the primary sector. For this reason, he created a documentary series entitled "SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURE, SUSTAINABLE PLANET". Through this, it highlights how climate change affects agricultural production, how it burdens the food crisis and focuses on ways to deal with the consequences, with examples of good practices from Greek farmers.

The first episode titled: “Climate Change: Framing the Problem – Pointing the Way to Solutions” defines the problem of climate change and the impact on agricultural production. At the same time, it highlights the direction of solutions with an emphasis on the concept of "sustainability".

The second episode entitled: "Protection of Agricultural Production, Mitigation and Adaptation" focuses on how the farmer can mitigate his carbon footprint, adapt to extremes and effectively shield himself against them.

The third episode titled: "Intelligent Farming", takes farmers on a tour of the smart farm of the new era and introduces smart farming and precision farming systems, the necessary equipment and the economic benefits for producers.

The fourth episode entitled: "The word to the Greek producer - The Greek grape", focuses on how the climate and temperatures greatly affect the quality and yield per acre and how the producer can stand up to the new extreme conditions it brings the climate crisis.

The fifth episode entitled: "The word to the Greek producer - The pistachio of Aegina" refers to Coal Agriculture and presents the way in which a Greek farmer approaches the issue practically.
