The city's mayor Argyris Economou signed the relevant contract.
This project is part of the "Integrated accessibility plan and interventions to enhance walkability and cycling in the Municipality of Elefsina, in the context of its characterization as "Cultural Capital".
The study was prepared by the Department of Urban Renewal Studies and Projects of the Ministry of Environment and Energy after a proposal from the Technical Service of the Municipality of Elefsina.
The works comprise the construction of a new bicycle path, the widening of sidewalks, new parking spaces, the construction of roundabouts and islands, the creation of green spaces, as well as the replacement of LED street lighting. Interventions have also been foreseen in the planning to serve the needs of the disabled.
