Ios, with its contrasts and diverse "faces," is being highlighted by international media through articles that describe the destination as the pleasant surprise of 2025.

As part of the Municipality of Ios’s organized promotional efforts, new travel experiences are being showcased both in Greece and internationally. Ios has been awarded the title of Greece's Most Refined Destination of the Year and has been included in the annual list of the 15 Best Islands in Greece by the British Times.

The publication notes, “While Ios has long been known as a party destination, it has now become increasingly common for travelers to bypass the bustling nightlife in favor of more sophisticated experiences.”

In a recent exclusive feature on the Cycladic island of Homer, the British newspaper Express remarked, “If you were to combine the best aspects of Mykonos and Santorini to create a new island, it would be Ios.” The article further highlights, “The island offers countless stunning beaches for every taste, while preserving its unique ability in the Aegean to blend vibrant nightlife with ancient monuments and world-class cultural museums, along with elegant restaurants and charming tavernas. A pleasant surprise is that this picturesque island is home to Homer’s tomb and the impressive prehistoric settlement of Skarkos.”

Moreover, Ios is listed among the destinations reviving the authentic Cycladic experience, according to Vagabond, the most popular Scandinavian travel publication. It describes Ios as having “32 kilometers of idyllic coastline, golden sandy beaches, and crystal-clear turquoise waters.”

The growing interest from travelers in exploring Ios's new offerings was highlighted by the Chairman of the Tourism Committee of the Municipality of Ios, Antonis Mettos, who stated, "The island's unique identity is defined by its contrasting features. The new Gaitis-Simosi Museum, historical landmarks, distinctive gastronomy, a broad range of tourism services catering to all needs and budgets, exotic beaches with turquoise waters, hiking, diving, cycling, boat tours, and vibrant nightlife create endless possibilities for extended vacations or short getaways, throughout both the high and low seasons."
