The Attica Region services have been removing dredged materials from Kifissos in N. Philadelphia.

The specific works are part of the interventions for the protection of citizens from flooding that the Region has set as a priority, which is currently implementing anti-flooding projects, with a budget of 434 million euros from its own resources and resources from the PEP "Attica 2014-2020" amounting to 112.8 million euros, while 30 million euros have been allocated for cleaning streams, on a daily basis.

At the same time, through the Streams Observatory, interventions are being supervised and re-planned, while for the protection of the fire-affected areas, in collaboration with the Athens Observatory and EKPA, a General Plan was drawn up, with similar actions.

The regional governor G. Patoulis pointed out that the Region has the responsibility of cleaning 2,000 km of streams and this is done in an organized manner at regular intervals, while for better supervision and organization we have also set up a stream cleaning observatory".
