21.8% jump in accommodation-catering turnover in November 2023

The smallest increase of 0.2% was recorded in the Region of Thessaloniki.

ELSTAT announced data on a monthly basis and at the regional unit country-level of analysis, for the turnover of enterprises classified in the divisions Accommodation and Food and Beverage Service Activities (divisions 55 and 56 of the NACE Rev.2 classification) for the period 2019-2023.

For the enterprises in Accommodation Activities (division 55 of NACE Rev.2 classification), obliged to double-entry bookkeeping, for which data are available on a monthly basis, the turnover in November 2023 amounted to 186,164,893 euro, recording an increase of 21.8% in comparison with November 2022, when the respective turnover was 152,816,458 euro. 

For the enterprises in Food and Beverage Service Activities (division 56 of NACE Rev.2 classification), obliged to double-entry bookkeeping, for which data are available on a monthly basis, the turnover in November 2023 amounted to 172,975,671 euro, recording an increase of 6.9% in comparison with November 2022, when the respective turnover was 161,815,979 euro.

In total, for the enterprises in Accommodation and Food and Beverage Service Activities (divisions 55 and 56 of NACE Rev. 2 classification), obliged to double-entry bookkeeping, for which data are available on a monthly basis, the turnover in November 2023 amounted to 359,140,564 euro, recording an increase of 14.1% in comparison with November 2022, when the respective turnover was 314,632,438 euro. 

For the Regional Units with a contribution to the total turnover of the year 2022 greater than 1.0%, the biggest increase in the turnover of November 2023 compared with November 2022 was recorded in the Regional Unit Lassithi (41.3%) and the smallest increase (0.2%) was recorded in the Regional Unit Thessaloniki.
