According to confirmed information, in Rhodes, the Mitsis group has entered into an agreement with the Greek-American businessman Mercourios Angeliadis for the development of the Golf area - North Afandou.

The company M.A. Angeliades Inc was declared a Preferred Investor, for a total price of € 26.9 million, in the relevant tender of the Public Private Property Development Fund (HRDF) in 2014…

The tender has since gone through turbulence before the approval of the Special Plan for Spatial Development of Public Real Estate (ESCHADA), the entire property, and a wider area of ​​about 10,000 acres was declared an archaeological site.

Finally, the archeological excavations did not unveil significant archaeological findings and the signing of the contract of sale (SPA) took place in June 2019, with the transactions proceeds been paid last month.

The basic design for the area of ​​1,359 acres includes hotels, five and four star complete golf upgrade, marina, shops, restaurants and residential development with luxury homes.

It is been reminded that in a part of the property that occupies an area of ​​about 450 acres, an 18-hole golf course has been developed and is still operating. The stadium was designed by Donald Haradine, who has designed a very significant number of golf courses (approximately 580) in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. In Greece, Haradine has designed the stadiums of Glyfada and Corfu.

The Mitsis Hotels Group

The Mitsis Hotels Group, which was founded in 1976 by businessman Konstantinos Mitsis with the aim of developing luxury accommodation, started from Kos and the Ramira and Norida hotels.

Today it has 17 hotels in the most important destinations of the country, in Athens, Kamena Vourla, Crete, Kos and Rhodes. Most of them (8) are located in Rhodes.

The group has submitted to Enterprise Greece a request for inclusion in the strategic investment scheme for the development of three hotel units in Mykonos.
