As stated in a recent announcement by Mr. Konstantinos Chalioris, General Coordinator and Director of the O.A.K.A. "Spyros Louis" complex:
"Through interventions across nearly all facilities, we are now at the midpoint of an ambitious project that aims not merely at maintenance, but at the comprehensive transformation of a landmark space—one that holds deep symbolic value for Greek sport and our society at large."
A key example of this effort is the Olympic Velodrome, where the removal of the old coating from the iconic wooden track is already underway. The surface will be repainted using state-of-the-art materials, with full respect for the venue’s historic significance and in compliance with international standards.
"The contribution of all involved—technicians, engineers, workers, and partners—is vital. With professionalism and a shared vision, we are laying the foundation for a modern, fully functional, and inclusive O.A.K.A., open to all: athletes, visitors, and future generations.
We sincerely thank everyone who is actively participating in this important undertaking. Together, we are ushering in a new era for O.A.K.A.," he concluded.
