According to the company, the hotel complex has been operating legally and with proper licensing for several years in the Mytakas area of Milos. Its expansion was approved within 2024, following a lengthy and legally prescribed process lasting over a year. This procedure included a public consultation on the Environmental Impact Study and received positive assessments from all relevant authorities.
Both a revised building permit and an Environmental Terms Approval (A.E.P.O.) have been issued for the expansion. As the company notes, a previous administrative appeal against the A.E.P.O. was rejected, with no further legal challenge pursued. Regarding any inspections or actions by the competent authorities, V Tourism AE states that it fully respects the institutional role of the State and cooperates with all administrative processes, emphasizing its long-standing commitment to strict compliance with the law. At the same time, the company notes that any arbitrary administrative reversal of legally issued approvals will be addressed through legal channels, as the annulment of authority decisions undermines legal certainty and negatively affects the investment climate.
The existing hotel unit is licensed for 58 rooms, of which 50 are currently operational. Upon completion of the approved expansion, total capacity will rise to 117 rooms, through the addition of 59 standard hotel rooms. The company emphasizes that this is not a large-scale development but a measured expansion that ensures the sustainability of the investment in an island environment with elevated construction and operating costs.
Location and Environmental Terms
Regarding location, V Tourism AE clarifies that the hotel is situated in Mytakas and is neither adjacent to nor near Sarakiniko, which is approximately 4.5 kilometers away. Additionally, the project does not affect any beach, as it is located roughly 50 meters from a rocky, inaccessible coastline. The investment has received environmental approval in an area where tourism activity is permitted under specific conditions, which were examined and approved by the competent authorities overseeing the project’s implementation. Measures accompanying the project include, among others, the installation of an independent desalination unit to meet the hotel’s water needs without burdening the island’s water resources.
According to the company, the investment has already contributed to the creation of stable jobs and is expected to continue supporting Milos’s local economy. V Tourism AE concludes by emphasizing its commitment to legality, transparency, and sustainable tourism development, noting that the actual data regarding the investment are known to the competent authorities and fully documented.
