Krikri, a Greek dairy company, is rapidly expanding its business abroad, with dairy products (yoghurt and ice cream) and exports offering the necessary push during the current financial year.

Panagiotis Tsinavos, head of Krikri, speaking to reporters during a news conference said the management was open to strategic partnerships and said the management was examining co-operations to help the company grow further.

Tsinavos stressed, however, the a prevailing environment remained difficult in the country and noted that Krikri managed to become stronger in the ice cream and yoghurt market both in Greece and abroad.

“We have made significant steps forward and proved that in a period of crisis a Greek company that has confidence in its people and a vision and strategy can succeed.

Despite a prolonge economic crisis we managed to have significant growth.

Despite a 27 pct decline in the GDP in the last eight years the company grew by more than 70 pct and has significant growth opportunities ahead in the global market of yoghurt and ice cream,” Tsinavos said.

He noted that Krikri was implementing investment plans worth 18 million euros by the end of 2018, or more than 40 million euros in the 2014-2018 period, creating the most modern yoghurt factory in Europe.

Currently 30 pct of sales is covered by exports and 70 pct from yoghurt. The company exports in 24 countries around the world and is the second largest player in the domestic yoghurt market.

Its production totals 70 million rations of ice cream and 500 million rations of yoghurt annually. Its workforce is 350 workers.
