Traditional retail markets faced multiple problems, such as the lack of available parking spaces. These problems have been accumulating for many years and no one was able to address them, then or even now. Consumers hadn't punished, so to say, the traditional retail markets out of lack of alternatives.

Shopping malls on the other hand, those that are properly structured and under professional management, offer a very simple, yet very effective concept.
Easy access and parking, numerous choices in products and services under one roof, shopping combined with amusement, prices for all wallets, ideal for families...

This concept has been available abroad for many years, and has now been adjusted to the Greek needs and habits. The philosophy behind malls is crystal clear: the consumer is at the center of attention!

Α recent survey conducted on behalf of the Thessaloniki Chamber of Commerce and Industry, showed that approximately 75% of the respondents prefer shopping malls over traditional retail markets, because they combine shopping with amusement, while 71% said that one of the most important reasons for visiting a mall is the large number of shops under one roof.

This preference was also evident by the 21% increase in the number of visitors at The Mall Athens in the first quarter of 2009, over the same period in 2008.

Traditional markets will not vanish from the retail map, this is a myth. But they will definitely shrink and will surely have to become more competitive.

Today, 3.5 years after the informal competition between traditional retail and malls, the latter are way ahead in the race and the rest of the fight is expected to be very interesting...
